Both Christmas Eve and New Years Eve
fell on Wednesdays this year.
so I lost two wings, beer, and guitar practice nights
I actually didn't miss much beer,...
honestly,..

Working from home tomorrow,..
maybe I will have something to say then

and good riddance,...
rough year,.. lots of good
lots of bad.

two new jobs
9 weeks unemployed
still...
compared to many my life is a cake walk.

making wings for the church youth group tonight.

Just got back from the grocery shopping.

Christmas day is Omelets and Bloody Marys.
and other stuff.

Biz trip to Pittsburgh for meetings early part of the week...

Corp rate is less than half the going rate.
Unfortunately,.. there is not a corp rate for Martinis.

Nice couple days.

The best thing about my new job,...

I am getting treated like an adult again.

I was reviewing the rules for travel expenses.
I need a receipt if an expense is over $25.
I think the feds allow up to $50 without a receipt.

The three year prison i worked for prior to this
required a receipt for EVERYTHING.
$1.75 turnpike toll,.. receipt needed.

The car I will be taking to the main office
has an easy pass thingie on it,..
The company just gets billed for the tolls.

It's nice to be part of the over-priviledged again.

Put the car keys down and back away slowly.

SO,.. I'm driving home from work.
Picking up speed to merge onto a 55mph highway.
(that equal to 3,2653,5437 km/hr Ms. G)
but i digress.

I time my entrance to fit into a 3 car gap in the flow of traffic.
Apparently the WRONG three car gap.
No sooner had I entered the road than I noticed,..
The guy who was behind me has accelerated
he has cut off the car in the passing lane and is passing me
giving me the finger of course.
barely managing to cut me off in time to catch
the very end of his off ramp.

WTF?

On the way to work there was a road closed.
in the lane of traffic is a cop car.
lights flashing,..
all strobie and stuff...
flares on both sides on the police car.
and,... yes,.. one car every 30 seconds of so....
tries to make a left hand turn from the opposing direction
across two lanes of traffic and AROUND
the police car and flairs.
So,...
Now the light changes and two lanes of traffic
(of which I am a participant)
can't move.

Again I say ,.... WTF?

Job is going well for sure...

Actually many things going well.
Job,..
music,..
children,..

Just don't seem to find the time to write,..

Did anyone else see the Maine results splash across the bottom of the screen,..

Been to busy to even read much recently,..

It will be a short night cause
I left work early to vote
and I owe them some time.
Fortunately, I get to be treated like an adult
So, no one looked askance
when I walked out at 3:00.

What a blessing it is to be treated like an adult again.

Things are going well,..
much that had fallen by the wayside is coming back.

Sometimes I feel sooooo lucky.

Time to build a fire and watch the returns while I work a bit.

I have been scarce.

I've actually been visiting the normal cast of chars.
But,.. not leaving much behind.

Losing about two hours a day to my commute
has been a real change for me.

The job is going well.
I have long believed that things happen for a reason.
I think a lot of the bad things about employment
in the last several years
have been to show me that
Some of the things that I just used to get screaming mad about
just aren't going to change.
I did have to leave the last job I had that was
really close in temperment to this one.
I would have been outsourced.
but,.. the job after it,..
sucked so bad.
the one after that was too good to be true
(yes that was the shorts and t-shirt job)
then 8 weeks of unemployment
and now,..
I have a nice stable job that I would have been
driven crazy in 4 years ago.
If I have half a brain I will stay here till I retire,..
If I can ever afford to do that.
